Welcome to one of Europe’s leading helicopter schools.
We offer international students classroom tuition under JAR FCL.
European Helicopter Center, is located at Torp Sandefjord Airport (110 km south of Oslo) and is the preferred destination for European low fare airlines and charter flights.
Our location, combined with highly educated and dedicated
instructors give students the best education in challenging
conditions. We have secondary bases, where mountain and bush
training is carried out. We have graduated nearly 400 CPL-pilots in
the last 10 years, and flown almost 100 000 hours without
fatal accidents. Our state of the art facility includes everything
our students need during their stay, in terms of flying, studying
and accommodation.
School activities
Our goal is to present the best pilots on the market, and to be
the preferred choice for recruiting new pilots to the helicopter
companies. Our goal shall be achieved through high instructional
competency, focus on safety, quality equipment, modern training
programs and an excellent learning and training environment.
Professional pilot training (CPL-H)
At present EHC trains 35-40 professional pilots (CPL-H) per
year. Spend a year at EHC and your dreams of becoming a
professional helicopter pilot may be realized. We provide you with
an exciting trade education adapted to market needs and aim to
continuously be in the forefront by offering the best training
available for future helicopter pilots.
Private pilot training (PPL-H)
Each year 12-15 persons get their private helicopter pilot
license (PPL-H) at EHC. This license allows you to fly a helicopter
as pilot in command (PIC) carrying non-paying passengers. You can
bring your family, friends or colleagues along on pleasure or
business trips. Course duration is flexible and training adapted to
your time available, typically 5-8 Months, using evenings and
weekends.
Other courses
EHC also offers special qualification courses like: instrument
training IR(H), instructor course FI(H), long line load training,
various type ratings, night flying, mountain flying.
Transport department
Carrying materials and equipment for the building, construction
and electric power plant industry constitutes a major part of our
transport activity. Helicopters are very efficient tools for moving
loads to difficult accessible sites and the load safety is taken
well care of by skilled ground teams.
Passenger transport is done all over Scandinavia for individuals or
groups of persons in our comfortable, modern four to six seats
helicopters.
EHC is a major Norwegian provider of helicopter services for
environmental surveillance, film, TV, sightseeing, banner towing
and events.
